Nothing new

I haven't even attempted to go back and retrace the past couple of weeks of my friends lists. I haven't unpacked my jewelry and sewing stuff just yet either, that's tomorrow's project. I'm hoping by the end of the week to be able to get back into some projects, though in the middle of house hunting and housekeeping and entertaining the pets. Guess I better get used to distractions with a little one on the way.

First on my list are some new cushions for our dining room chairs. I know, incredibly exciting [/sarcasm], but they're driving me nuts. We had the wicker caning on them redone as we were moving so now they look nice and new and the bright yellow, though dingy vinyl cushions just aren't doing them justice anymore (it was one thing with the wicker all shredded thanks to former cats). So, I'm going to use the old foam that's in them and the existing cushions as a pattern. I've been collecting Fiestaware since I was about 18 and we now have 9 place settings of it, in addition to a few serving pieces. My idea is to pick my four favorite colors of it and do a cushion in each color. I'm hoping to find dupioni with a gold cross dye for all four colors. Then I'd like to use gold piping on the edges.

Once I finish that, I might get started on a maternity Halloween costume. I'm wishing I had altered the cover on my dress form before I started to grow so that I could have kept working on some of my unfinished projects and the ones that I've got materials for but haven't started. But they'll just all have to wait until next year. Seems like so long from now. I'm fairly certain all plans for any cons or other such events are out of the question at this point. Who knows, something may change, but I doubt it. I may still keep the possibility open to at least come meet everyone for breakfast at D*Con, if that's still planned to happen. I just really don't want to pass up a chance to meet nearly all of my LJ costuming friends!

I know -I have a bunch of pregnancy costumes all picked out for whenever I get to that point! It would be hard to give up costuming for so long!

I'll be lucky to squeeze in one before November when it won't be necessary anymore. The downside to working as slowly as I do on things. ;] I'm keeping in mind styles that could later be altered back down to normal size so that I don't wind up with a bunch of useless costumes after the pregnancy. I've also considered a couple of Padme's Ep. 3 outfits, but most everything is so intricate, I'm not sure I'm up to that.
