Started piecing together the undergown last night in my deep purple habotai. *sigh* Makes me sad, but it's not going to matter at this point and I can fix it later (as in, before I go to Indy). Still haven't gotten the gold pen. Must do that tonight! (been avoiding Wal-de-Mort) I'll probably pack up my backpack to bring that piece to work this week to do during lunch breaks (and actually take lunch breaks this week). What I've gotten done on it is almost the size of one of the sleeves (maybe lacking 4 inches), so I'm feeling better about how much I actually have to get done vs. painting the whole yard. I'll probably have everything I need with about half of the yard, if not a little less.
Chris' undertunic mockup is done for the most part. It fits, I just have to lengthen it to just below the knee (the pattern was made for a jacket that comes to mid-thigh). For future reference, he's a women's size 16. ;]
Tonight:
Get gold pen!!!
Finish Chris' undertunic mockup and get started on surcoat mockup
Finish putting together the undergown pieces - half the pieces are cut out and pinned together.
I got a ride home with a co-worker so no staying at work until 8pm tonight for me! (Our second car is dead right now and Chris "forgot" to look at it this past weekend, even though he asked me several times, "is it really going to screw you if the Trooper doesn't work next week?" I think he just didn't want to bother. *annoyed grunt*)
In the past three business days, I've made three orders from Dharma. If I would think things through, I could have saved about $5 in shipping. Oh well, more things keep popping up that I wind up needing.
It's also going to be quite chilly on Saturday, when we're planning on going to a huge block party downtown and then a small pub crawl, also downtown. I know I'm going to have extra velvet (like probably 2.5 yards or more), and I've got this gorgeous 4" wide trim (red and gold) that was the first stuff I ever bought from MK Brown, 2 yards of it. I think I might follow Yvette's lead and dye a bit of extra midnight blue velvet and throw together a mantle. I tested it on my dress form last night with some rust paisley printed silk velvet I had. I think it'll be lovely and will take almost no effort to throw together (just cut, sew trim on, hem, put a hidden tie on it and done). Chris has skin tight, insulating backpacking layers he can wear underneath of his costume (capilene and such). And if it's really cold, he has a pair of black fleece pants he could wear instead of the ones I got for him.
