For eight days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag eight people to do the same.

I'm not tagging anyone, so do it if you feel so inclined. Or don't, see if I care! ;P

1. Rocked Jonah to sleep for the first time since his infancy. Granted it wasn't until about 4:30pm after I'd been trying to get him to nap by any other means possible, but it was still sweet, nonetheless.

2. Bought two new pairs of pants in time for them to arrive before Christmas. I'm in desperate need of new clothes and as much as I appreciate clothes (see costuming interest), I hate shopping for them. Nothing ever satisfies and I don't have time to make what I really want. I really don't like the styles that are popular right now either and I don't feel like I'm not old enough to buy old lady clothes. But, I order pants I like at least from Delia's and Alloy (DONTJUDGEME!). Yes, I totally realize these places are for high school girls (believe me, it's hard to miss with all the ads for acne medicine and music and movies I've never heard of), but I like their pants and they come in 35" inseams. You don't find that in department stores.

3. Registered for the Zoo Run Run 5k. If anyone is interested, you have until Friday before the price goes up. Right now it's $25 for zoo members and $28 for non-members. The registration confirmation page said, "Animal attire is strongly encouraged. Prizes will be given to best dressed. No long tails due to the running nature of this event." *ponders*

4. Baking approximately 6 dozen peanut butter cookies with Chris and Jonah. Chris stepped in a few times to take over as I got busy with other things and Jonah did a great job of cleaning the paddle attachment to the stand mixer when we were done. The most gratifying thing is that this was just a single batch of Alton Brown's peanut butter cookie from his baking book. Yes, that's right, a single batch makes 6 dozen cookies. His theory is you can always freeze the dough if you don't want to use it all right away. Another gratifying thing is that I'm taking them all to Jonah's teachers today for a cookie swap thing, so other than what we ate/burned last night, they'll be gone right away without us having to eat them.

5. Talking to Brandy again on Facebook, even though she had bad news. Wishing for a Christmas miracle for her to get it all worked out. ONE MORE DAY!!!

6. Getting a Christmas card from the Garners. Thanks guys!

Check out the Gap and Old Navy websites as well for long pants :) I know you probably don't want to shop at those places either, but I'm not telling you to go to the store :) I buy Gap jeans since they make them in petite and their petite is actually my length... (usually it's too short and regular is way too long, hehe)I just looked and they have Long (34") and extra long (36")!!! :)

Also, um, yum!!! Peanut Butter Cookies???!!! :)

Cute bout Jonah!!!

Actually, I recently bought several shirts at Old Navy, in the store no less. Still won't set foot in a Gap after all these years. I noticed as I was trying on some pants that were too short that they had a sign in the dressing room that petite and tall sizes were on their website. Made a mental note to check there but haven't bought any from them yet. I might after Christmas. I need more than the ones I just got and the ones I have.

I highly recommend gap jeans. They last a long time and are very comfortable! :) I buy them on clearance since my budget won't allow for $70 jeans often and i usually buy new jeans every 4-6 months. Figure 8 pairs a year at $70,that's $560 a year on jeans... No thank you :)

Yeah, I usually buy everything on clearance from even Alloy and such and their jeans are more in the $40 range at full price. The pairs I just bought, one was $20 clearance and the other was full price. Unfortunately, I really needed some pants right now, so I just had to get what I could. I'll keep that in mind when I'm ready to buy more though. I bet there will be pretty good clearance at the first of the year.

Oh, woman, you and I are two peas in a pod. I hate shopping for clothes, too, and I also don't have time to make clothes instead. ;P

It's the trying on a million things before I find one I'm willing to go home with that really gets to me. I think a lot of the problem is that I have an idea of what I want in my head, but no one makes them, or at least not right now. Guess I have to wait until Boho is back in style. ;)
