Well, I probably shouldn't have, and I probably needlessly talked myself into thinking it wouldn't be there in two weeks, but I went ahead and bought the glitter knit I found on ebay for the Angel gown. It was $5.50/yd, not bad, and although the surface texture isn't as "pebbly" as the original (at least the costume gallery shots anyway), it gives the same look and feel as the movie shots, and with this one, that's what I'm going for.

Chris from LR_Cos said she thought the silver/grey metallic crinkle was too dark, so maybe get the silver. Maybe next paycheck. Then on the hunt for a lace trim, preferably one already embellished. I don't want to have to do a lot of extra work on this gown. And of course, the beaded trim for the edges. Will probably wait until a mockup is done to order that, since I have no idea how much yardage I'd need. That'll probably wait until after Christmas actually.

I may be on the look out for a "fuzzy" material to do the Halo cloak, too. Might as well.

In other news, everything that I was desperately hoping would come today did! Yeah! I'm throwing the velvet in for a pre-wash right now. And in a sec, will order the final fabric for Chris' undertunic. The stuff from Vogue was close enough for me.

well huh.. it seems they got rid of the ones I consitered... but I did find these

http://www.mjtrim.com/catalog/product.aspx?product=20395&variant=-GREEN-ALL

http://www.mjtrim.com/catalog/product.aspx?product=20392&variant=--GREY-ALL

http://www.mjtrim.com/catalog/product.aspx?product=27956&variant=-----1-ALL

the second is the closest to the anfel dress IMHO. just a pitty that it doesn't come in silver..... but hope this helps! I was just thinking of getting one of the floewered sequined trim and putting it on some lace trim I found... but perhaps organza (either embelished or plain) would wotk since the scalloped trim is both at the top and bottom.......

I like that second one a lot! They're where I was going to start the search for sure. I'm looking at the pearl ones, since the trim looks mostly white to me, but I haven't done a lot of studying yet.

Just glancing through real quick, they've got tons of possibilities!

hahaha, I just saw that episode the other day! "you can really taste the chutney!" think I've decided to put a simpsons reference in every post, see how long I can go with it. I'm thinking until I die. ;]

I think it'll work, and if not, I can sell it I suppose.
