I really don't have time to give a full rundown at the moment because I've got an enormous mess of a house to deal with and a body that is only half functioning with which to work. Everything hurts, even my fingertips somehow. Yesterday was like a 12 hour yoga practice with a break for lunch. But, I can post the progress pictures of the work we've done on the guest bathroom thus far.

Before:

Everything ripped out:

Whole tiles in:

All tiles in:

Still to do, seal tiles, grout, seal grout, paint. Then purchase and install new vanity, mirror, light fixture, hardware (like towel rack, shower curtain rod, etc.). Then reinstall toilet and accessorize (though I almost hate to cover up this gorgeous slate with a bath mat).

All this out of a "hey, let's paint the bathroom this weekend" idea of mine that was born from a good mood and motivation stemming from nice weather on Thursday last week. *facepalm*

Also, water saws are wicked cool!

Various trips around town, meeting Chris' parents for lunch, cutting tiles in the front yard... so yeah, a little bit. We smoked a cigar on the back porch Saturday evening and I feel like I enjoyed Friday's weather while driving down to Huntsville. Definitely feeling recharged.

no one EVER finishes a project on the weekend. NEVER! Trev pressurewashed the back of the house. The front still remains...
Looks great so far!

If it had just been panting and new hardware, it totally would have been done. ;) But we'll be much happier with the result and then that room will be completely and entirely DONE! Which will be really nice as we look around at rooms that still have tons of little things we'd like to do to them.

Thanks! I'm really pleased with how it's going. Once we get the floor all done, I think I'll be able to breathe easy that the rest will be cake (since it's all stuff we've done several times before).

I love it! It's even more gorgeous in person. Has this lovely iridescence (which I hope will somewhat remain after several coats of sealant) which makes some of the rusty spots look like oil on water. Even better when it's wet. Also, before the first two coats of sealant, it had a glittery surface like it was flaked with mica. I'm pretty sure that's gone now, though.

We've been wanting to do slate in the upstairs bathrooms ever since we moved into this house. We want to do an entire tub surround and shower in it in the master bath. Gluttons for punishment. ;)
