I think it's something only other parents can be enthusiastic about. ;) I'll probably remember 9/8. I tried to really talk it up, saying if he gets better and better at using the potty, he can go pick out some big boy pants. He seems excited about that (well, anything that's prefaced by "big boy" actually).
That's almost word for word what I told him about wanting to take the pirate costume! It's not like we go to the beach every weekend or anything, so I want to seize the opportunity while I can. Possibly the only other place more appropriate might be on a dock or a galleon, but there again, how many of those are around middle Tennessee? I guess I could kind of fake the latter on the zoo playground, but he'd make fun of me for that too.
