Picked up the unsold clothes yesterday and was disappointed to see only about 15-20 sold (if my counts are right). I immediately decided I'd try to do more than just the sale in November. The good news is, most sales will work with you on tags and consignor numbers from other sales. So all the items that are tagged won't have to be re-tagged in most cases. I've got my eye on four more sales. I won't be shopping any of them, since Jonah is set for everything but shoes and socks, both of which I prefer to get new.

I'm exhausted today for some reason. Mostly I think it's because I didn't get very good sleep last night. Took me forever to finally fall asleep and it wasn't very restful.

We had a great weekend. A really nice balance between getting things around the house done and relaxing. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous! Except for the HVAC guy being here this morning to do his check of our system, the A/C hasn't been on in over 48 hours. By the way, he wasn't nearly as critical as the plumber and basically just told us what we already know (that our upstairs unit is 17 years old and to expect to see some problems in the next 1-5 years). No duct cleaning suggested (which I was actually expecting) or anything.

Among the things we got done this weekend were cleaning and sealing the patio table and one of the chairs (to see if we wanted to seal the rest, and we do, but after a better cleaning of them). Chris did most of that work. I washed the umbrella about 5 or 6 times and it still has little green algae spots on it, but is much better than it was. I hosed out out garbage can which was disgusting and drilled drainage holes in the bottom of it to help keep it from getting too disgusting again. Chris finally cut up a bunch of the old posts from the last section of fence we did. While we were at Home Depot yesterday, we noticed the fencing boards were on sale and we're contemplating buying them and doing that in the next month or so. That will finish up the fence completely, which will be so nice to have done (It's only taken us a little over a year since we started). Other than that, we did a bit of cleaning inside the house on Saturday morning (which was all but completely undone by Sunday evening).

I also weeded and generally cleaned out all the gardens. A lot of the plants have gotten crowded and early summer bulbs were starting to die back. Also, a lot of the zinnias were falling over and I staked them up. Noticed the azaleas have what I later found out to be mildew. Apparently a lot of the deciduous varieties get it this time of year and most people don't even bother treating it. Others mentioned doing a weekly or even daily soak down of the leaves with a fungicide. Others said just a dousing of water 2-3 times a week will cure it. Apparently it comes from having dry soil and humid air. Did another spraying of the unkillable grass in the berry garden and picked another cup or so of raspberries (thinking raspberry brownies for this batch). Picked a bunch of peppers and took mental stock of the ones on the plants. Had to stake up the giant Marconi (sweet Italian). Those things are HUGE and there are two on the plant right now. There are more habenero an jalapenos than any household can possibly use. I see pepper mash in our near future. We've also got a little green pumpkin, a tiny eggplant and several fuzzy little melons (watermelons and probably honey dew) and one weird round cucumber. The squash plants look healthy but small and I don't expect anything from them yet again this year.

In between all that productivity were gratuitous periods of goofing off. We relaxed in our living room on our computers. We relaxed on the patio in the nice weather. We relaxed by turning our Simpsons triva card came into a drinking game. Chris gave up when I got the one about Xtapolapocetl. However, I misspelled kwyjibo (I spelled it quijybo).

Chris seems to be getting into a "let's do stuff to the house" phase, so I'm trying to get myself organized for that so I don't feel like I'm missing out on things I want to do while we're working together on something.
