I'll admit, aside from getting the location, the bulk of my planning happened in the 6 months leading up to the date. So, I'd say a year and a half is probably plenty of time. :)
One lesson I learned the hard way though is to delegate! There was too much I tried to do myself and hence a lot of things didn't get done and when it came down to needing other people to do it, no one knew what I wanted done. Hell, the morning of the wedding I was potting flowers for the centerpieces while I had a facial mask on. I don't recommend it. ;)
This will be fun and you should enjoy it as much as your guests! :) And yay! I get to see you in, what, 7 weeks? :D
