Chris got mostly brewing stuff for Christmas. See, I'm an attentive wife and in about October, I started keeping a list of things when he'd say, "I really need x" and I'd cross things off if he got them himself or decided he could use something else instead (as was the case with Fermwraps where heating pads apparently work just as well). I got him a center channel speaker for our slowly growing surround sound in the den. It was kind of a selfish gift since I was getting a little annoyed at not being able to hear dialog in movies. All that's left now are rear speakers and perhaps replacing the subwoofer.

I got kind of a myriad of things and I won't really sit here and list them all. Chris got me a Lenovo laptop which I'm really excited about. I'm still giving Vista a fair chance, but I'm feeling like I might want to have Chris put Ubuntu on it. Either way, I definitely want a fresh install. I want all this factory garbage on it gone. Sick of things popping up wanting me to sign up for them.

I got some more workout clothes and my mother-in-law gave me her old yoga mat, so I have absolutely no reason not to workout in the new year. I also got some task lighting, but the big desk version is going to get taken back I think. It's kind of an oblong light and when you adjust the gooseneck, the light falls and doesn't stay where you put it. But I love my little clip on LED light. I can now read, embroider, sketch, whatever in the evenings without having to have Chris keep the overhead light on in the den (which I'm sure he's happy about). And I must be old to be happy about getting a Shark steam mop for Christmas. I spent a couple of hours on Friday moving appliances and such to do a thorough sweep and steam of the kitchen floor. It does nothing for the grout, but at least it gets everything else. It's a lot easier to use than a mop too, since I don't have to rinse and wring out the pad. And it only uses water, so there are no chemicals. Also, Doug gave me a Zen meditation book which I'm looking forward to reading after finishing a reread of Fellowship book one for the book discussion later this month.

I spent my Christmas money to finally get the extended editions of Lord of the Rings. I wanted the costume stills for Celeborn mostly, but I didn't realize there were so many stills of the sets as well and now I want to get into furniture making and wood carving, heh. Speaking of, in the couple of weeks I was checking on the boxed set of all three movies and appendices, they've discontinued making new ones and the price has skyrocketed. You can still get them individually through Amazon for reasonable prices, but an "acceptable" used version of the boxed set goes for $60 now and a new or like new version for around $120. Apparently they're coming out with Blu-Ray versions, so they're discontinuing the DVDs. Since I wasn't sure if the Blu-Ray would have all the same stuff as the DVD, I wanted to go ahead and get these. If it turns out they're the same or have even more stuff, I can always sell my apparently now valuable DVD editions.

As for Jonah, well, he got tons of stuff. In fact, I had done a sweep of his toys to thin them out after his birthday, but I felt the need to do another one after Christmas. Santa got him a tricked out new Schwinn tricycle. He's still trying to figure out the pedals, but he really seems to love it. We got him some more Duplos, as did Doug. I figured out that the lego side of his car table fits Duplos, so that's a plus. I actually don't think he got any more Hot Wheels, but he got plenty for his birthday, so that's fine. He also got a Little People fire truck and police car. We got him a regulation size 1 soccer ball as well and he's really pretty good with it. He got a neat little Disney Cars folding table and chair set. For all the Cars stuff he's got now, we thought it was time for him to see the movie. We watched it last Tuesday morning. It was kind of hilarious. He was sitting at his Cars table, wearing Cars pajamas watching the Cars movie. So, most of what he got was car stuff. But aside from that, he got lots of coloring stuff from us and Chris' parents. Specifically the awesome new Color Wonder stuff from Crayola that only colors on the special kind of paper. No more crayons on the carpet and walls.

So, all in all, it was a good Christmas for us all.
