Running week 14: better than nothing.

Only ran two days last week, but that's two more days than any of the three prior weeks. The good news is, I don't feel I've lost a lot of stamina or time (some, yes, but not a lot).

Monday - rest
Tuesday - rest
Wednesday - 2.53 miles in 31 mins. (avg. pace 12:15 min miles, run 5 min/walk 30 sec intervals)
Thursday - rest
Friday - Wednesday - 2.53 miles in 31 mins. (avg. pace 12:15 min miles, run 5 min/walk 30 sec intervals)
Saturday - rest
Sunday - rest

Mileage:
Week - 5.06 mi
Month - 5.06 mi
Year - 116.22 mi (*sigh* I had to go back a page on my journal to get my last updated year amount)

My most pathetic month since July when I wasn't even trying to run. Since I felt so good on the run Friday, I'm going to pick back up on the plan now, instead of doing my own conditioning. I am going to drop it back to week 7, where the mileage runs start and the interval runs taper off. I think that's a good spot for me, judging by how I felt running last week. Also, it's amazing how much better I felt mentally and emotionally after my run on Wednesday. I think I owe it to my psyche to get back to the running.

I've decided on my first race (again) and I swear I'll run this one! It's the Zoo Run Run 5k on January 24th. I'll have to run every single week and stick to the plan without falter if I want to be ready for the race. Registration is $25 for zoo members before Dec. 19th ($28 for non-members). It's something like $45 the day of the race though.

Thats great, but how are you going to cope with this ass freezing weather??

I got out and powerwalked/jogged/ran down in Florida with no problemo. Shorts and a t-shirt, not at all hot, not cold, just that perfect combo that ranged from slighty warmish to coolish. I like it being nice and cool so you feel energized and don't get sweaty and tired. So yeah, I'm a wuss, since I like it juuusst right.

However Damn, its cold here now! I'm freezing my tush off. Hates it. :-( I just want some cocoa and my blankie.

If you go out and run today I'm going to be amazed and impressed. :-O)

Ugh, that's exactly why this was the first running I did since it turned cold. I now have some cold weather workout clothes that I got in preparation for the Superhero 5k. But it's extremely hard for me to fight my natural urge to hibernate when it gets cold. I hate being cold! I would much rather be hot and sweating than cold and shivering.

I guess don't be amazed or impressed though, because I didn't make it out yesterday. Just ran out of time really and didn't force myself to stop what I was doing to go out and run.

yeah, I know what you mean about wanting to just hibernate. Though I deal a bit better with being cold than really hot.

Don't blame you at all, it was really nasty yesterday. I feels a lot better out today though. I wish I didn't have to work because it feels good enough to go out and exercise. Which I need to do, I had an Eggnog milkshake for dinner last night. lol..
