Your number is: 1
The characteristics of #1 are: Initiating action, pioneering, leading, independent, attaining, individual.
The expression or destiny for #1:
A number 1 Expression denotes the skilled executive with keen administrative capabilities. You must develop the capacity to be a fine leader, sales executive, or promoter. You have the tools to become an original person with a creative approach to problem solving, and a penchant for initiating action. Someone may have to follow behind you to handle the details, but you know how to get things going and make things happen. You have a good mind and the ability to use it for your advancement. Because of these factors, you have much potential for achievement and financial rewards. Frequently, this expression belongs to one running a business or striving to achieve a level of accomplishment on ones talents and efforts. You have little need for much supervision, preferring to act on your own with little restraint. You are both ambitious and determined. Self-confident and self-reliant must be yours, as you develop a strong unyielding will and the courage of your convictions.
Although you fear loneliness, you want to be left alone. You fear routine and being in a rut. You often jump the gun because you are afraid of being left behind. [These three statements are scarily accurate.]
The negative attributes of the 1 Expression are egotism and a self-centered approach to life. This is an aggressive number and if it is over-emphasized it is very hard to live with. You do not have to be overly aggressive to fulfill your destiny. The 1 has a natural instinct to dominate and to be the boss; adhering to the concept of being number One. Again, you do not have to dominate and destroy in order to lead and manage.
Your Soul Urge number is: 1
A Soul Urge number of 1 means:
Your Soul Urge is the number 1. With a Soul Urge number of 1, you want to lead and direct, to work independent of supervision, by yourself or with subordinates. You take pride in your abilities and want to be recognized for them. You may seek opportunities to display your strength and usefulness, wanting to create and originate. In your desire to manage the big picture and the main issues, you may often leave the details to others.
The positive 1 Soul Urge is Ambitious and determined, a leader seeking opportunities. There is a great deal of honesty and loyalty in this character. If you possess positive 1 Soul Urge qualities, you are very attainment oriented and driven to success. You are a loyal friend and strictly fair in your business dealings.
The negative side of the 1 Soul Urge must be avoided. A negative 1 is apt to dominate situations and people; the home, the spouse, the family and the business. Emotions aren't strong in this nature. If you possess an excess of 1 energy, you may, at times, be boastful and egotistic. You must avoid being too critical and impatient of trifles. The great need of the 1 Soul Urge is the development of friendliness, and a sincere interest in people.
Your Inner Dream number is: 9
An Inner Dream number of 9 means:
You dream of being creative, intellectual, and universal; the selfless humanitarian. You understand the needy and want to help them. You would love to be a person people count on for support and advice.
I'd say about 75% of this fits, maybe less. I only tend to be the leader if I'm the only one working on something. And I do seek solitary work because I like to be in control of how the work goes.
I do like to initiate ideas in groups, I just don't want to be the leader when it comes to bringing those ideas to fruition. I'd rather someone else take the helm and I'll happily work on it from there as a lowly worker bee. I tend to prefer to be second in command or lower in group settings. I don't like the pressure or stress of being the very top rung, nor do I feel adequate enough to take charge of other people. If I can have orders handed down to me, however, I feel that takes the pressure off (I guess I always have the leader to scape goat) and I don't mind leading from there.
I don't feel I'm very aggressive, though, except in situations that call for it (like in sports). Maybe I've learned this lesson and found proper outlets for my aggressive tendencies. I see some of those negative behaviors, like this one in my past. There was a time when I did like to be the leader, but I guess life's experiences have taught me lessons and I've altered my nature to adapt to the situations I'd like to avoid.
I don't like to dominate situations or people. I don't like for it to all fall on me if it goes wrong and I think ultimately that's why I don't like to be in charge. I also think my desire for independence and the freedom to do things completely unheeded keeps me from wanting to dominate other people. I try to and hope I'm able to respect their needs for independence as well.
I am too critical of people though, but it's usually because I think they can do better. I have to remember I'm usually not at my best either.
Fairness is something I constantly strive for. You can't be an unfair leader, you just can't. It's not right, and it's an abuse of power. It also compromises your ultimate goal. If you show favoritism to any aspect of your idea or any member of the team working on it, it's likely to fail because you'll lose something else in order to show favor to that one person or thing. It's all about balancing the scales.
I really am a details person. I tend to get so lost in the details, I lose sight of the big picture and although one little aspect of the project is perfect, the whole ultimate goal of it is completely missed.
I don't feel like I take pride in my abilities at this point, but more so I'm constantly trying to make them better, learn new things and gain new skills. But it's always for the bragging rights so to speak of being able to say, "yeah, I can do that" or spout off some piece of useless knowledge at an opportune moment. So yeah, I have a tendency towards egotism, I guess. But I try to be subtle about it. I'm not sure if I'm successful at that, but I at least try not to boast. When I get excited about something I'm doing, I do like to babble about it and that could be construed as boasting.

on 2008-09-12 04:48 pm (UTC)I can see where some of this may have been true when I was younger, even during childhood. But life's experiences have just as much bearing on who you are and who you'll become. I've learned to change some behaviors over the years, perhaps avoiding certain aspects of my nature to hopefully avoid unpleasant results.
I was a bossy child. ;)
