Tennesee Renaissance Festival
May. 19th, 2009 07:53 pmWe managed to make it out there Sunday and the weather was just absolutely gorgeous, if not a little chilly in places. It was pirate weekend, so I put on all my pirate garb (still desperately want to finish it out with additional and improved accessories, and today, I spent birthday money on a new sword and a wool felt hat blank to make a tricorner of it). We were going to dress Jonah in his parrot costume. But, it was quite warm in the house while we were getting ready and he started stripping it off. So, we decided not to dress him up, even though he kept saying he wanted his costume when we asked him. Once we stepped outside, I started regretting not pushing it and dressing him up anyway. Chris was right though, it definitely would have gotten wet and muddy. I still did not get any pics in my costume. I'm just going to have to dress up one of these days and torture Chris into taking pics of me in all my costumes.
Anyway, we had a good time. But, I think we've resolved to keep things like this to a minimum until Jonah can learn to stick with us. We wind up twice as exhausted by the end of them because we're either chasing him around or carrying him the whole time. Here are our pics. I must say, it's nice to have a camera capable of taking good pics from the back of crowds at the shows. Especially when you have a toddler who won't sit for more than two minutes. I got some shots that look like they could have come from the front row.
