Yah! The shoes I got a few weeks back on ebay came today! They're considerably more grey in person than they appeared on the listing, but they were listed as grey after all. They look fabulous though! They're a slate blue-grey satin looking material with metallic blue embroidery, clear seed beads with blue centers, and iridescent sequins. There's even embroidery on the sole. Beautiful work. The soles and structure of the shoes are leather. There's a tiny 1/2" padded heel on them. Now to break them in. Wonder if some leather oil would help.

Worked much more on the Dream gown today. I've got the shoulders all done and starting work on the zipper. Then all that'll be left is the other side seam and hemming for the rest of my life. I'm thinking about being lazy and leaving the selvage edges as they are. That would mean I'd only have to hem the top and bottom. Any thoughts?

I saw the first Harry Potter movie Friday night. Yeah, this is the first time I've seen anything Harry Potter. Never read the books, never watched the movies, though we've owned the first and third for a while now, and may even have the second laying around here somewhere. Just never bothered, we don't watch movies often. That whole 20 minute attention span thanks to cartoons. This is certainly the stuff that the children's fantasy genre is made of. Late observation I'm sure, but this will surely find it's way into the classics. I guess the huge following speaks for itself.

I'll probably never get around to reading the books. I so rarely (like once every 3 years) read a book strictly for entertainment. The books I read for fun are on philosophy, nutrition, things relating to my hobbies and what not. The smallest shelf in the study is reserved for a handful of novels the two of us own. The rest are all non-fiction. I think reading so much online has soured my desire to read books purely for entertainment. I want to learn something when I pick up a book. Which isn't to say you can't learn something from a novel, it's just a bit less likely. Strange twist from my refusal to read anything non-fiction as a child. At that time, I just wanted to be lost in a novel.

And yes, I really have been living under a rock for the past 5 years.
