Some neurotransmitters become more or less active depending on dietary intake. Either overconsuming or dramatically restricting a particular food, such as fats or carbohydrates, can trigger imbalances in neurotransmitters that can contribute to depression, irritability, food cravings, mood swings, and thinking problems.

-Elizabeth Somer, M.A., R.D., Food and Mood (2nd ed.)

I'm not feeling as in over my head with this book now. But I am rereading what I read two nights ago. This is going to take a lot of effort, hard work, focus and dedication. But I must follow my own advice that anything that really matters usually is a lot of hard work. I'm happy to accept that if the result is a healthy life which can be enjoyed to its fullest.
