The strangest thing just happened. I was at Target, gearing Jonah up for the pool, and when I came back out to the car (the Forrester), there was a small piece of torn brown paper sack tucked under my windshield wiper blade. On it was written, "I need this car. Will pay top dollar", and had a phone number. I think I might call. I'd feel stupid not at least finding out how much this person considers "top dollar". Not that I'm seriously considering selling the car necessarily. I love that car and it would really take a fabulous offer to make me consider selling it, though I don't think it would take much to convince Chris. But if they'd offer what we still owe and/or more than that, we'd be stupid not to consider it. A smaller car payment would definitely be beneficial.

on 2007-05-22 03:07 am (UTC)call them and ask for an amount in cash that would be enough to cover what you owe plus enough to make you feel motivated to shop for a new car.
:P
I had something like this happen to me, once, but it was much more specific and type written. It was from some guy who said he was looking for older hondas... but I never called him. I thought it was weird.
