Making the most of it.

Chris and I went out to a great Ethiopian restaurant tonight. It's in a really ghetto strip mall, but the food was awesome and really cheap. We had no idea what to order, so we got a combination platter for two. They don't have silverware, so you eat everything with your hands and/or this spongy crepe-like bread. And we're not talking finger foods. Stuff like collard greens and cabbage and such. Reminded me of soul food that's actually been spiced well. We were completely stuffed when we left there. We joked about how there couldn't possibly be starving people in Ethiopia as long as they have that bread.
After that, we went to the Belcourt to see Peter Rowan and Tony Rice. They had a bassist with them that slowed them down a lot. The mandolin player was pretty good, but her vocals were weak. Was a pretty short show too, but it was nice for a Friday night when you don't have a lot of energy left from the week anyway.

on 2007-05-06 01:58 am (UTC)Herbie Hancock would be cool, but I'm afraid the rest of the month might be too jam packed for us already.
