I've got a spankin' new 120GB hard drive! So now I'm having to reinstall everything. No photoshop is killing me. ;]

Today, I worked on fitting the front panels of my Blood Red gown under dress. I pinned the trim to my dress form to get an idea of where the neckline should fall, fit at the waist, then filled in the blanks. Here are pics of what I've got so far. There are some wrinkles that will be worked out when I re-work the neckline (I tested it out and pulling up fixed it, which is a movement that needs to be done anyway). I'm using the Simplicity 4940 pattern as a base, and the neckline is way too square and not broad enough. No biggie. The armscye needs to be a bit more snug, too.

All week, I've been working on beading for the armband on my wedding gown. I figured it was something I could do while confined to bed.

By the way, I'm doing much better. I actually worked two full days this week (Thursday and Friday) and went to the chiropractor four times this week (I go back on Monday). Still sore and stiff, but at least able to move around. But I digress. . .

This pic is where I picked back up on it (taken in early spring of this year). Here's where I stand now (actually, I've done a little more, but not a lot). Along the top edge there, I folded over the seam allowance and piping to get an idea of what it would look like finished. Pics in between those show how I've progressed over the week. I'm really happy with how it's coming along. I think another week and I can have all the beading done, maybe even the embroidery.

And lastly, Chris, starts a new job in a week so we went clothes shopping for him. We went to Marshall's and while he was poking around, I took a glance at some of their accessories (most of their women's clothing is kinda awful if it's actually my size!). I found some really awesome scarfs/sashes! Beaded, fringed, even beaded fringe!

I thought of Yvette when I picked out the silver sash/belt. I think it would look really nice on an outfit similar to her Nimrodel gown. I'm thinking something that's a cross between the battle dress and the yellow-leaf collar dress. Another one to add to the list. It's a grey chiffon, about 2 inches wide with glass seed beads in a silvery-grey on the edges. Then, as it starts to taper towards the end, there are beaded strands dangled off of it to give a cascade effect when it hangs vertically. I really love it! They had several other colors, but I liked the silver best. They were only $10, too!

The burnout velvet shawl I think might work with the Blood Red gown. I won't know for sure until I finish all the dyeing. I was surprised when I looked at the tag and it said 60% silk/40% rayon, AND it's beaded for $30! I really fell in love design, too. Floral looking with some elven looking swirlies. I told Chris that I'll have to start dressing like Stevie Nix to make good use of all this stuff, heh! He really likes the shawl.
