I'll have to read that sometime. The entire book and perhaps a lot of the series might have been redeemed in my mind had there been that epic battle.
I'm sure you got hate mail for it, though. I can't imagine what J. K. Rowling got. Someone, somewhere is bound to grow attached to every single character in a piece and when you get rid of them, I'm sure a percentage of those people are going to voice their complaints about that.
