Well, I got everything but the 2T stuff tagged and off to the sale Friday. I had to call it quits at 11:30a to get myself and Jonah ready to get the stuff over there (a church/school about a mile away from the house). I walked in as the noon bells were tolling, literally (the church has a bell tower). There were women walking in behind me though, so evidently they're not strict about cutting it off at noon. At a glance, the sale looked huge, but I didn't realize over half of the gym was full of tables of toys and such. I debated for the rest of the afternoon whether to go back that night or wait for the half priced sale Sunday. It can be hit or miss.

After dropping the clothes off, Jonah and I went to lunch at Brewhouse 100. He had a huge lunch of fries and a quesadilla. I was feeling the need for a beer, but refrained. ;) I did, however, indulge in some Mojo wings and one of their good, but not so healthy salads (bacon and cheese kind of negates the healthiness of a salad, in my opinion, but certainly not the deliciousness of it). I had a proud parent moment when the waitress placed Jonah's plate in front of him and he said, "thank you" with no prompting from me.

From there, we went to run some more errands, crossing more things off the week's to-do list. In fact, the only errands I didn't get run this week were the car related ones (oil change, tags renewed, tire rotation, new air filter and windshield wipers and such). Guess that will just slip to next week.

When we got home, I spent longer than usual trying to get Jonah down for a nap and nearly fell asleep myself. When he was down, I noticed a text message from Chris saying he wanted to do pizzas on the grill again for dinner. So, I got dough started while I chatted with Steff on the phone and generally tried to clean up around the house.

After Chris got home, I decided I'd go back up to the sale at 6pm and he said he would take Jonah with him to the grocery to get the rest of stuff for dinner. I took a quick inventory of what Jonah already had for fall/winter and made a list of how many of each thing I'll be looking for. I stuck to it pretty well, except in a couple of places.

I've got a system down and it works pretty well, but I learn something new that I'll do next time at every one of these sales I go to. This time, I took the list and a box. I wrote on my list, "no items over $5" and I even tried to keep $5 items at a minimum. Well, all rules are made to be broken and I scored a gorgeous Gap sweater for $6 and an awesome French brand windbreaker for $8. Both were marked with "ND" for no discount, so I didn't regret buying them. Also, I got a couple of things that weren't on the list but were really cheap. Thing the first: a Charlie Brown t-shirt, as in a yellow shirt with the black zigzag line on it ($3). Thing the second: a pair of real, suede leather, authentic German lederhosen ($3).

Yes, I'm totally serious! I bought my son a pair of lederhosen. There were two identical pairs right next to each other on the rack. Both said "never worn" and had original tags on them that said $49. I plan to piece together an outfit for Jonah and maybe one for me for the Germantown Oktoberfest Oct. 10th. No corsets though. I have to be able to run a 5k that morning and I don't really want to have to change clothes. Plus I think it would be fun to run the race in a costume. Especially since I don't think most people do. I wonder if I could make a bodice out of compression fabric. *ponders*

So, if my count is right on the index cards I used for tags, I sent in about 67 items. I bought 26. Even if all my stuff goes for half price, I should do pretty well, assuming of course most of it goes. The church keeps 30% plus a $6 consignor's fee. But still, not too shabby. Then in November, I'll put in whatever didn't sell along with all the 2T stuff I didn't get around to tagging and the jackets and shoes that didn't get tagged as well. And since he's completely set (except for some new shoes and socks, perhaps), I won't have to shop that one.

The rest of the weekend, we've just kind of bummed around the house a lot and done some cleaning and such. The weather is absolutely gorgeous! We really should have been doing something outdoorsy. At least we've opened up all the windows. How many times can you do that in August in the Southeast? It's awesome!
