I did it.

I ran in approximately 16 degrees. I didn't do the full scheduled run (2x1 mile repeats), I only did a mile. But I ran at least. I was really conscious about pacing. I kept holding myself back on the first half of the mile and I gradually increased in speed up to a near sprint in the last tenth of a mile or so. I didn't hit a wall like I have been lately. In the end, it was an 11:28 mile. My lungs were hurting from the cold air, so I called it a night rather than going any further.

It was eerily silent outside though. I could feel the wind blowing, but it was barely a whisper in the air. I was the loudest thing around, with the exception of the occasional car (I maybe saw 10 on my whole run). Not only did I wear my compression gear, but I wore my fleece pants and jacket over it. I also wore wool socks, fleece gloves and kept my hands in my jacket pockets as I ran. If I could have found my ear muffs, I would have worn those. I was pretty comfortable, except for my face and lungs.

Since there's 100% chance of cold tomorow, Davidson county has called off school. Yeah a "cold day". It's a lot like a snow day except much more stupid. Therefore, Jonah will also not be going to preschool since they go by Davidson county's schedule for weather days. Therefore, I will not be running tomorrow and will instead run Saturday. I'm looking at a high of 40 on Saturday which is a lot more like it. I'm pretty sure I didn't see anything above 21 today.
